The rapid spread of the new Coronavirus is creating unprecedented challenges for national and local government across the UK, as well as Governments all around the world. Beyond managing the current crisis, the economic fallout of Covid-19 and wider global megatrends present additional challenges. It is more important than ever to show strong leadership, with a clear view of what needs to be done to support recovery and promote a prosperous and more inclusive future for places and communities.
In recognition of this, ASELA has commissioned Work Advance and Oxford Economics to engage local businesses, residents, the voluntary sector and wider stakeholders in a conversation about what kind of place they want South Essex to become in the future and how we can shape action and direct investment towards the things that matter most.
Today we launch the YourSaySE2050 website. Over the next three months we will be posing a number of important questions and are calling on everyone in South Essex – from residents to businesses, visitors to voluntary sector organisations – to join the conversation.
