The COVID-19 pandemic has substantially enhanced the challenges leaders are facing in business and beyond, heightening the demands on their time in an already very uncertain and dynamic contemporary world. The last decade has been framed by a number of economic events from the financial crisis to Brexit, and now with the pandemic. This has also occurred on the back of a period of long-running trends associated with technological advances, and innovations in ways of working, climatic change, demographic change and ongoing pressures from a rapid pace of globalisation and increasing international competition.
Work Advance is delighted to speak at this event organised by the School of Business and Creative Industries at the University of the West of Scotland. It’s purpose is to pool thinking at this challenging time, bringing together insights from multiple stakeholders. The event provides a platform to get under the skin, and to discuss, the challenges and opportunities of leadership in 21st century now and into the future. What effects are short term and what signify lasting change. It’s a chance for managers, practitioners, academics and researchers from a wide range of industries to explore the theory and share their practical insights, reflections, experience, and lessons on what actions leaders might take to enhance the performance of their people and organisations during this time of crisis and change.
