Jess has spent her career at the intersection of business and public policy. She most recently worked on a national campaign to improve UK productivity and competitiveness, supported by the UK government and some of the country’s most senior business leaders, including the Chairmen of BAE Systems, Cisco, John Lewis Partnership, Nestle and Rolls-Royce, and the CEOs of Amazon, BT, EY and Siemens UK.
Prior to that, she worked on public policy for a major British retailer, with a focus on skills, pay and taxation, as automation restructures the UK retail market. In 2015 she was chosen to join former US Ambassador to the UK Matthew Barzun’s ‘Young Leaders UK’ program, which connects the next generation of British leaders with American policymakers and diplomats. She was also selected for the Prince of Wales’ ‘Business in the Community’ board development scheme for young professionals seeking non-executive positions in the arts.
She holds first class degrees from University College London and the University of Leeds, and is currently completing her MPA at the Harvard Kennedy School.
